Welcome to Fruit Salad week at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog. This week we were to use any fruit in our project. I used the fruit cut from the Nate's ABCs cartridge. It is cut at 3 3/4" from an assortment of stash papers.

It has a large base so I decided there was perfect for an Action Wobble (couldn't get a good picture of the wobble, sorry). I used my Gelatos for the first time for the white highlights on the fruit.

The background is a plain piece of white card stock that I sprayed with my homemade glimmer spray. I sprayed through some punchinello for a nice polka dot look. It's kind of a subtle look but I like how it turned out. It may have looked a little better with a solid piece between the two layer but I had it all together before I thought about that and didn't want to tear it all up.

Getting Cricky DT Post

Hi everyone. Today is my day to do a design team post for Kristal at Getting Cricky. She still has some stamps left, and they're still on sale! The stamp I used today is from a set that is still available. The "Food for Thought" sentiment set can be found here.

Yes, I know it's December, but one of the teachers I work with is having a birthday this week and I made a simple, silly card for him to remember the day. He is the basketball coach at our school, but I wanted to do something less expected. The hot dog was cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge at 3". The paper is a mix of stuff that I've had around for a while. It turned out pretty cute and the fact that it's on an Action Wobble adds to the cute factor. The inside has some of the patterned paper and a strip of yellow to make it a little less plain. There is no sentiment inside so several of us can sign it and leave our own sentiments. To be honest, I know this is going to be a card that is going in the trash so I didn't add a lot of extra stuff(is that bad?). I also know that he will appreciate it in the moment, which is what counts! I hope everyone has a great week and enjoys this quick break from all things Christmas.

Wild Side

The challenge this week at Wobble Wednesday's is to use an animal and show your wild side. This hedgehog isn't very wild, but I love it and wanted to make it a little more masculine this time (I've used it before in brighter colors). The card is A2 size and the cut is from the 4 Legged Friends cricut cartridge cut at 2 1/2". The patterned paper is from DCWV. The solid is mostly stash except for the shimmery brown, it's Recollections. The faint gears on the kraft paper is stamped with the Stampers Best Gears background stamp. I used Versamark ink and heat set it just to give it a watermark effect. It's not a perfect image, which is good as I wanted it to look more worn. There's faux stitching between the 2 layers of paper. The sentiment stamp is from the K Andrew Designs "Guy Talk" stamp set. There is a bead for the eye instead of the little paper piece that was supposed to be there. And, of course, it's on an Action Wobble....I'm attempting to upload a video but am not having much luck:(. Ok, it's there but not great. You get the idea....

Not a card!

     This is an unusual post for me.  First of all, it's not a card.  Second, I'm entering it into more than one challenge, I don't usually manage to get that accomplished.  This is for the Simply Sunday challenge at Getting Cricky where the challenge was to make something for summer.  It's also going to the Wobble Wednesday challenge (not a card) and the Fantabulous Cricut challenge (bug). 
    I made this for a friend who graciously has our annual end of the year party at her house every year.  We sit on her patio and discuss the school year and laugh at the silly stories we all have.  It's a good time!  

Action Wobble from the side

    The flower pot is a kids pot from Walmart that has a removable liner. I traced it in the purple paper and punched some pink circles, stamped them, glued them and then put it all back together.  The flowers are all cut at 3" from the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge.  The bee is cut at 3" from the Pooh and Friends cartridge and it's on an action wobble!  It's cute when it bounces around.  The stamps are from the K Andrew Designs Summertime Splash stamp set.  There are two so she can use one or both. The twine is also from Kristal, she just started carrying it, it's nice and thick and only 5 dollars for a roll! The circles on the pot were cut from one of Emma's (My Creative Time) dies.  The circle on the top was punched with a Fiskars punch.  The paper is DCWV and from one of the color packs from JoAnn's.  I don't have the package for the stamps on the pot and I don't remember where they're from.

Wobble Baby

This card is for the Action Wobble challenge at Wobble Wednesday.  This week's challenge is to do a baby item (card, LO, party favor, etc.).  I actually made 2 cards this week, but I didn't get pictures of the other card before my daughter took it to a shower for a friend of hers.  I used the same DCWV paper stack (8x8 Nana's Nursery baby girl stack) for both cards. The other one had a monkey on it (theme of the shower) instead of a onesie.   The solid green and pink are from a Martha Stewart 8x8 pack.  The onesie was cut from the Cricut Sampler cartridge at 3 1/2"


The card base is a piece of plain white card stock cut in half so it is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  The corners were rounded using my corner chomper.  The green was cut 1/2" shorter on each side and the striped piece was cut 1/2" shorter in height, but 1/4" shorter in width.  The green piece was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  The squirrel was punched from another piece of paper in the same stack.  I inked around the card and squirrel with MS inks.  The  squirrel is on a piece of foam tape.  The onesie is on an Action Wobble.  The buttons are from Wal-Mart and the stamp is from Hampton Arts (I think).  I had a little trouble with the stamp, but it didn't turn out too awful.  (I'm used to using firmer stamps and pushed down a little hard on one end.) The rosette is a piece of scrap ribbon that has stitching down both sides (we all have it).  I pulled the thread on one side from both ends and tied it together to make the flower and glued a button in the middle.  I used Scotch Quick Dry glue and my pink ATG as adhesives.  I stamped two little diaper pins and punched them out with the same MS scalloped circle punch as the squirrel and attached them to the inside of the card.

Whimsical melon

The challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday, the challenge is to make a project with a melon. I used the Simply Charmed cartridge to make the melon. I originally cut it at 3" but it was way too big for the card. This melon is 2 1/2". The melon paper is Colorbok, the polka dots is Making Memories and the plaid is from a DCWV self-adhesive pack I picked up at Ross for $$3.99 (they had some cute things a few weeks ago). The punches I used were both Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. She just came out with 2 new sets, so check those out while you're there;) I used some Stickles to add a little bling. I also put the melon on an Action Wobble which definitely adds the whimsy! I tried to upload a video but it didn't work (uploaded but wouldn't play, alas). Oh well, moving on....it's a simple summery card. Have a great day!

National Scrapbook Day - MPS cupcak challenge

This card is for the cupcake challenge at My Pink Stamper. It was the first one of the day. I got started late, consequently I'm behind and have decided to pick a few to do and be happy with what I finish.

This card is 4" x 5 1/2". The papers are predominantly DCWV. I think the cupcake is from Simply Charmed. It was cut at 4 1/4". The sentiment was stamped with MS pink ink and cut out with the labels 4 Nestabilities. The cupcake is on an action wobble which adds a little extra fun to the card. I didn't put anything else on the background because there was so much going on with the paper.

Fantabulous Cricut challenge

Back from hiatus, sort of. Better but not 100%. I decided to try a challenge this week anyway, especially since it's spring break for us. Today's the last day:-( The challenge was to do a square card with green and gold. My card is more mint green and yellow but it's what I had. I just got the Simply Charmed cartridge so that's where the image came from. The card is 5"x5". The paper is mostly old stash scraps that matched (sort of). The striped piece was cut at 4.5" x 4.5" and the green at 4" x 4". The brown base of the popsicle is kraft paper from Recollections. The ribbon is from Big Lots. The popsicle was cut at 4" (all layers). There is yellow Stickles on the front over the sentiment and on the popsicle. I used a cuttlebug folder on the green paper. The buttons are from Walmart. The drip is raised with a foam piece and the popsicle is on with an Action Wobble.

Cardz TV cupcake challenge

This card is for the Cupcake challenge at Cardz TV (http://cardztv.blogspot.com/). I love Mary's videos!! Anyway.....back to the card.

The patterned paper is all K and Co. The glitter paper is DCWV. The white (and I'm pretty sure the brown from the cupcake) is Recollections. The yellow and red are scraps. I used stickles on the cherry and it wasn't quite dry when I took the picture. I wish I had more time to do this:-( The ribbon is Mary Engelbreit. The white in the back is a piece cut at 5 1/2" x 2". I embossed it with a cuttlebug folder and then punched it with a MS edge punch. (Should have probably done it the other way around, but it worked out ok.) It's the bubbles edge punch. The cupcake was cut at 2 1/2" from the Create a Critter cartridge. It's on the card with an Action Wobble so it jiggles when you move the card. Those things are so much fun!! The little yellow dots are from Recollections. I stamped the sentiment on white paper with MS red ink. I punched it out and backed it with a yellow piece that I had embossed. I inked it with white ink to try and make it a little "sunnier" looking. (I think I need new white ink.) Have a great week!!

Action Wobble card

I made this with the Gingerbread cartridge and an action wobble. Those things are so much fun to play with. I'm being very stingy until I can buy more. I cut the gingerbread people out at 3 1/2". The green snowflake is MS punch with an Irock gem in the center. The small snowflakes are from a Fiskars mini cartridge punch with a hint of Stickles in the center. The polka dot paper is K and Company. The rest of the paper is from my stash. (Been collecting a looong time). The ribbon is from Michael's. I'm going to attempt to add the video as well as the picture. Hope it works.
