Getting Cricky - Miss Shoe

Happy Thursday! It's my day to post at Getting Cricky. I used Kristal's Fashionable Friends stamp set on this card. You have to search for it a little, but it's there and it pulls the whole card together.

I recently picked up one of the Tim Holtz on the edge dies and have been wanting to use it. I cut the front of the card and 2 designer papers with it and it turned out pretty well. There was a bit of a learning curve to get it through my Big Shot without shifting but I figured it out.

The crocheted flowers trim down the side are from Michael's and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The shoes are a Sizzlits die that I also got on sale recently. i picked up the paper from Hobby Lobby. I'll put the name of it in later if I remember to go look for it (long day). The edges were inked with Distress Ink in Antique Linen. The sentiment was stamped in Vintage Photo.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. My son will be home for his last undergrad spring break. Time sure does fly!

Things with Wings

This week at My Paper Crafting the theme for Craft with Cutters was to make something with wings. Apparently tomorrow is National Tooth Fairy day (haven't dealt with her for quite a while now) and that was the impetus for the theme. I went with my Tinkerbell and Friends cartridge for my project, at least I got the fairy part!

She was cut at 3 1/2" on my Expression. She worked pretty well at that size until it came to the lips and eyes. They were so tiny they barely cut. I ended up using pen for those pieces (don't look too hard). The paper I used on Tink is a mix of things I've picked up at TM, Ross and Hobby Lobby. The background pieces are both from DCWV pads that I don't remember the names of. I used my I-rock for the first time in a long time. I put all of the little gems on with it, I should use it more often. The white flower was gifted to me in an order I placed and I got the other 2 flowers from someone on FB and I don't think it said who the manufacturer is.

I recently purchased a tiny photo box/studio to take picture in. I haven't used it yet but am anxious to see what my pictures look like using it. Maybe I'll have it figured out by my next post???

Kiss the cook

The challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut was to do something a little different with the theme "kiss the cook". I made this super simple grocery list/menu board for my kitchen.

I have a whole pad of the DCWV 12 x 12 chalkboard paper and have been trying to figure out a good way to use it. It seemed like a great choice for this project. The board and background were cut at 10" and 10 1/4" from the Elegant Edges cartridge. The word was cut from the Savory cartridge (a little ironic??). I put the little black thing at the bottom to put the day on if I want to do a specific recipe on a particular day.

I know a lot of people have these already, but I don't and thought it might come in handy. Now let's see if I use it. Hope everyone has a great week.

Totally Tags n ATCs

Good morning! Welcome to the first day of Totally Tags n ATC's a My Paper Crafting. I'm moving out of my card "comfort zone" and joining this fun new adventure.

This is my first ever venture into the world of the Artist Trading Card, or ATC. It is the standard 2.5" x 3.5" card. The backing is medium weight chipboard covered with patterned paper. The stamp is Martha Stewart. I used a technique I've been wanting to try that I saw on a Splitcoast Stampers video. You cut out pieces and layer them on top of each other, stamp, and then put the borders behind the image pieces. The largest pink square is 2" square and the white piece is 1 3/4". The smaller pink piece is 1 1/4" and the small white piece is an inch square. It turned out pretty cute.  The ribbon required to keep with the theme is behind the image and the bow on top.The pearl drops are Viva Decor pearl pen.

I hope you all enjoy the great projects for the day!

DCWV February Stack-a-holic challenge

This card is based on the Page Maps sketch that DCWV used for the card challenge this month. I used the Birthday Wishes 6 x 6 stack. I love 6 x 6 stacks! This paper is really shiny but the picture doesn't show that. The card is very bright and would be good for a child or a goofy 25 year old.

This card is A2 size but it opens on the bottom instead of on the side. The buttons are from Wal-Mart and the sentiment is from K Andrew Designs.

Getting Cricky - So Grapeful

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope everyone is having a great, or dare I say, grape day! Today is my day to post at Getting Cricky. I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day (oh the drama!!) so I am posting this very purple birthday card that I made for a friend whose birthday is today.

All of the die cuts are Spellbinders dies. I love the grapes, they came out so cute! It was the first time I used them and they cut and stenciled really well. I was looking through my stamps and found that great saying on the "Even More Food for Thought" set from K Andrew Designs. It reminded me that I had gotten this cute die set that I hadn't used yet, and voila, a birthday card was born!

The border across the center is a Martha Stewart punch. I used MS ink on the grapes and Memento Tuxedo black for the sentiment. It stamped really well. The little purple half-round cabochons are from my stash. I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I spritzed it with some purple  spray stuff that I made. It's very shiny in there;-) The plaid paper is from a DCWV adhesive matstack and the rest is from my stash. It's a regular A2 card.

Here is a picture of the stamps I used. There were still a couple of sets left when I looked. Check them out here

Feel the Love...

Welcome to the crafting with cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting. Today we are all making cards for Madison's I Feel The Love Project. Please head over to her blog to find out more about this month's recipient.

The recipient, Alana, is a 21 year old who lost her home in Hurricane Sandy. My daughter is a little older than her and this is one of her favorite color combinations (and she loves bling) so I went that direction with my card.

The cut is from the Best of 2010 cartridge. I think the original is from Wall Decor and More. I cut the heart and background at 2 3/4". The background flourish is from a pad I just picked up at Hobby Lobby, and I picked up the holographic paper from Scrapbuck, (I love that site!!). I cut the center heart out twice and used the centers for the two hearts on the right. One is glued directly to the card, the other is on foam tape. The big heart is on foam tape as well. The bling on the bottom is some of the rubbery, cut-able stuff from Michaels. I embossed the pink layer with the script folder from The Paper Studio.(I really like using all of the blingy stuff on cards, but I can never get a great picture, it's frustrating.)

I hope you enjoyed all of today's projects. Have a great rest of the week.
