<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I used this cute hippo from the Birthday Bash cartridge. Not sure I'm happy with the white pen on the hippo, but the rest is ok. The inside says "it's your birthday!". The solid paper is Recollections, the patterned is a scrap. The ink is Tim Holtz Distress Oxide. It was interesting to watch it change colors as it dried. Have fun with this one, you can never have enough birthday cards!</div>

I chose to make a birthday card for my masculine card this week. I used vinyl for part of the sentiment since it was so thin with mixed results. I like the overall effect of it though. All the paper is Recollections, the vinyl is 651. The images are from Billionaire and Phrases. The background is all basic shape rectangles. The Cricut file is <a href="https://design.cricut.com/#/design/61902951" target="_blank">here</a> if you would like to recreate it.<br />
<br />
(I almost forgot to post this! My days are all messed up from being on summer break.)</div>

<b><br /></b>
The elephant is from the Zoobaloo cartridge. It's so cute! It's just the outline of the elephant but it made a cute birthday card with the purple behind it. The patterned paper is from my stash and the pompoms are from Webster's Pages. I had trouble with the dots...I think I stuck something in them about 4 times before they dried. It's also the reason for the jewel, big blob right in the middle of the head :/ That's the great thing about making it yourself, you can work with the mistakes and sometimes they work out for the better.<br />

For my project this week I made a card for a friend to give to her mom by welding two base pennants from the Pretty Pennants cartridge together. I used the Floral Pennant for the flowers. The background paper for the card and both boxes is Cricut brand. The brown is Recollections and the other is from my stash. The little chocolate boxes are from the Fancy Boxes cartridge. I used vellum behind the flowers so they could be used as tea light holders after the chocolate is gone ;-).<br />

I made a super quick card with a Sizzix stamp and die set by Stephanie Barnard. I haven't had much time to craft lately but this went together really quickly. It's really basic but turned out pretty cute.</span><br />

I was in need of a few minutes of craft time today so there will be a couple of posts. This is the first of two posts. The only thing I used for this challenge was my paper cutter, a stamp from <a href="https://www.unitystampco.com/" target="_blank">Unity Stamps</a>, and some sequins. I found a cute picture on Pinterest and used it as inspiration to create my card. The boots and flowers are from the April Showers and Bloom Cricut image sets. The solid paper is all Recollections and the plaid is an old piece of Martha Stewart paper from my stash. (The gold flowers look a little brown in the picture but they aren't in person.)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I made this adorable umbrella egg from the <a href="http://www.3dsvg.com/shop/birthday-svg-files/daffodilly-spring-svg-bundle/" target="_blank">Dreaming Tree Daffodilly Spring Bundle</a>. It was pretty easy to put together once it was all cut. The hardest part was picking the papers. (Actually, the hardest part was getting a good picture. The light was weird and I had a tough time.) I used a butterfly from the Tablescapes Sping and Summer Cricut image set that went with it perfectly. I might add a couple more before I give it to somebody.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

Have a great week everyone! We are back to school after spring break which means the end of the year and graduation are quickly approaching.</div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I needed to make a quick thank you card and had this beautiful stamp from Unity that I hadn't used and this is the result. It went together really quickly using some basic rectangles and a Spellbinders scalloped circle die that was just the right size. The patterned paper is from Webster's Pages.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I stamped the image with Versa Fine ink and colored it quickly with Zig real brush markers. <span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Susan chose the theme of ice skating this week at<a href="http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2017/01/ice-skate.html" target="_blank"> BBTB2</a>. I love all of the images from the Hello Kitty Holiday image set and use them as often as possible. This is a combination of 2 images that worked well together. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Happy New Year! Maureen chose the very apropos theme of something "new" for the first challenge of 2017 at <a href="http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2017/01/new-year-use-cut-that-symbolizes-new.html" target="_blank">BBTB2</a>. My "new" is this resolution that I found on Pinterest. It's actually going into my classroom as a reminder to my students, especially the seniors, to stay on track this quarter. The third quarter is always the hardest for them.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">DT sister Susan asked us to make a Menorah or Nativity project this week at <a href="http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2016/12/nativity-or-menorah-challenge.html" target="_blank">BBTB2</a>. Here is my Menorah card, it's almost the same as hers (hers is prettier), weird huh? </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I used elements from the Family Album image set to create the card. It's supposed to be a scrapbook layout but I resized some of the elements and removed others. Here is a link to the DS file if you would like it. Everything is in the subscription so you should be able to cut it if you have that. </span></div>

<br />
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have very little Christmas shopping done and nothing mailed. Everyone is going to be out of town so they'll get it when they get back. We have to go to school through Wednesday and it has thrown off my normally late timeline. Now it's just ridiculous! I hope everyone has a peaceful holiday season.</span>Lynn B.http://www.blogger.com/profile/17552047538375556405noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8196776142764236324.post-49221075535509291272016-12-05T06:00:00.001-05:002016-12-05T06:00:09.980-05:00Christmas Wording at BBTB2<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This week at BBTB2 our DT sister, Caroline, chose Christmas wording as the theme. I made this free box from Dreaming Tree and added the "Happy Holiday's" ornament from the Merry and Bright Cricut image set. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNZq4YeXWAr0icMJ9moSIrm7Eq41tDRhqLVpEWT6-9XV8Kj8bs3bZ2zgam-KZkkGA3OxEr70fA1QcsAmBT7skV7e-itkM5asYwxA0oioWXCakqOVS2z6FnHsY9BcbRyQ14j2cwuBvMA49e/s1600/DT+box+with+words.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNZq4YeXWAr0icMJ9moSIrm7Eq41tDRhqLVpEWT6-9XV8Kj8bs3bZ2zgam-KZkkGA3OxEr70fA1QcsAmBT7skV7e-itkM5asYwxA0oioWXCakqOVS2z6FnHsY9BcbRyQ14j2cwuBvMA49e/s400/DT+box+with+words.jpg" width="377" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The box was really easy to create and is a pretty good size. It's about 4.5" tall so it could probably hold a candle or a demitasse cup (or of course candy) fairly easily. It's getting crazy busy in my world with Christmas and basketball season so I may be hit or miss for a while. I hope everyone enjoys the Holidays! </span></div>

<b>Here is my project:</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I used this cute, free files from Digiplayground to create a few little nifty gifties for the Christmas season. They whip up pretty quickly and are adorable when they are done.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They hold exactly 6 Andes mints perfectly and will be great little "thinking of you" presents without going over the top. The paper is all Recollections and the image is from the Teresa Collins "Deck the Halls" Cricut image set.</div>

<b><br /></b>

I know it's beginning to be really hectic in most people's lives at this point, but take a quick break and play along with this fun challenge! Have a happy holiday season!</div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It's a week full of flourishes at <a href="http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2016/10/flourishesswirls-challenge.html" target="_blank">Bitten by the Bug 2</a>. My card is quick and simple, it's been a crazy week. This is for a friend who is coming back to work after her sister passed away this week.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The patterned paper is cut from the Tie the Knot image set. I welded a sentiment from Cake Basics and a flourish from Wall Decor and More to get the sentiment.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I will be taking a bit of a break from BBTB2. I will participate occasionally for the next few weeks, but it's a crazy time at school and I am having a hard time keeping up with everything. Hopefully I'll be back full time fairly soon.</span></div>

For some people it will be American football, for others it may mean soccer. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Things have still been crazy here with the aftermath of hurricane Matthew and the end of the first quarter of school so I made a quick card for my project.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgafJPwuqEaP2pBzkG-1ywc5FKCB0emI3_rQJcBw-xY_rmd40e-uODDPnTIcFMIvWirhfqNkB7y-cUwFRTIHa8M5Hg8iOZ-dNn1JFX8cMKsD9edaY5MC072k6D-Vjs3R8LazyBxl95zQMHy/s1600/Football+16.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="326" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgafJPwuqEaP2pBzkG-1ywc5FKCB0emI3_rQJcBw-xY_rmd40e-uODDPnTIcFMIvWirhfqNkB7y-cUwFRTIHa8M5Hg8iOZ-dNn1JFX8cMKsD9edaY5MC072k6D-Vjs3R8LazyBxl95zQMHy/s400/Football+16.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I chose images from Sports Mania for the front of the card and Phrases for the card base. I did some slicing to create the dark brown piece to match the front of the card. It's embossed with a Tim Holtz textured impression folder. The paper is not all Recollections for a change. There is some Bazzill thrown in the mix this time.</span></div>

I love making things for Halloween but it has been a crazy couple of weeks and I didn't get this done till the last minute (again). It still turned out pretty cute.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdrW0xK56lLULcvrbtle7zxtvFnCmzZ8sslMZgbqHHXNJIheXY6_q2u4eCvy7EaGS6oeBpH57tASb3IxZc6Dzqm5hHJUkAGT3gCL9MFGR-KKpJa3CxnDDRBJxvLEsYj1afogedVBVci7c0/s1600/Halloween+ghost.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdrW0xK56lLULcvrbtle7zxtvFnCmzZ8sslMZgbqHHXNJIheXY6_q2u4eCvy7EaGS6oeBpH57tASb3IxZc6Dzqm5hHJUkAGT3gCL9MFGR-KKpJa3CxnDDRBJxvLEsYj1afogedVBVci7c0/s400/Halloween+ghost.jpg" width="381" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I used images from the Creepy Critters, Gothic Graveyard and Mother's Day Bouquet image sets. It's an odd combination, but they still worked well for what I wanted. The ghost is attached to the coffin top with a piece of acetate. The leaves worked nicely to hide the bottom that was glued on. Mr. Ghost is double sided and grinning at you from either direction. I think I may put this on my desk at work with some Halloween treats inside.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Have a great week and join us for some spooky fun!</span></div>
