Pay attention to yourself!! (not craft related)

We all get so busy doing things for others, keeping up with work, thinking "if I don't do it who will", that we forget to pay attention to the things our body is telling us. Do yourself, your family and your friends a favor and STOP IT!!

A good friend of mine had a brain aneurysm burst on Friday. Thank God she was on the operating table when it happened. She is struggling, but is still fighting!! Please pray if you are so inclined.

The pay attention part is from some information we have all learned over the last few days. She had been having headaches for a few days before the incident that sent her to the hospital. Here are some statistics from The Brain Aneurysm Foundation.

Pay attention and go get checked if you have:
  • Localized Headache
  • Dilated pupils
  • Blurred or double vision
  • Pain above and behind eye
  • Weakness and numbness
  • Difficulty speaking
Get help immediately if you have any of these symptoms:
  • Sudden severe headache, the worst headache of your life
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Nausea/Vomiting
  • Stiff Neck
  • Sudden blurred or double vision
  • Sudden pain above/behind the eye or difficulty seeing
  • Sudden change in mental status/awareness
  • Sudden trouble walking or dizziness
  • Sudden weakness and numbness
  • Sensitivity to light (photophobia)
  • Seizure
  • Drooping eyelid
  • Brain aneurysms are most prevalent in people ages 35 - 60, but can occur in children as well. The median age when aneurysmal hemorrhagic stroke occurs is 50 years old and there are typically no warning signs. Most aneurysms develop after the age of 40.
  • Women, more than men, suffer from brain aneurysms at a ratio of 3:2.

A little sketchy...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #198 Sketch Challenge
Sketch is from Card Positioning Systems

Be Wild and Free Stamp Set

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

I used the Art Deco Cricut cartridge for my card today. The image I used seemed to call for something of that era. The paper is from Graphic 45 and I used it to pull the rest of the colors. The border in the background is "border #2" from the cartridge. I cut it at 1 1/4" and then trimmed the ends a bit because it was still a little long. (I think sometimes I forget I can change the images after they are cut.)

The image is from the Family set from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps. It can be found here. I love the vintage images on this set. I am anxious to make some more cards with it!

I hope you come play along with our challenge this week. Have a great day!

Red, white and...PINK!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Jaded Blossom

Winner will receive the Got Candy stamp set.
To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. I hope that you will all visit FCCB and join in this week's challenge.

For my project this week I used CCR. Love Struck 2010 was the "cut it free for a week" cartridge and I took advantage of that and made a couple of cuts specifically for this week's project. I'm not a Valentine's Day fan so I would probably never buy this cartridge. It was nice to have access to it when I needed to use it!

The cut from Love Struck is the border on the left. I used Glossy Accents on the red to make it stand out a bit more. (The red layer on the card and the banner flags is the same paper without it.) I embossed the background of the stamped image with white embossing powder and glossy accents on the heart. That piece is on foam tape. There is a piece of ribbon behind the border to help it stand out . It's easier to see in person than in the picture.
