Hanging the Greens at BBTB2

Hello. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend if you are in the US. If not, I hope you had a wonderful weekend anyway.

The challenge this week at BBTB2 is to use some type of a Christmas plant in your project. I chose to use a poinsettia for mine. The one I chose is from the Winter Wonderland cartridge. I also used a card base from the Anna's Lovely Layered Cards cartridge.

You can mix and match the cards with some great sentiments. This is the one I picked for the inside of the card. The writing is really pretty.

I did make some adjustments to the card base as I wanted it to be a little less bulky, and I knew the ink wouldn't dry well on the yellow/gold paper I was using. I only did half of the inside layer of the card and then added a smaller piece of thinner paper with the sentiment on it. The bottom green is from a punch I've had for a number of years.

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Challenge #265 Thanksgiving or Thank You

Sponsored by:

A $25 Credit Voucher and ONLY good for digital download files.

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

And, if you submit a project in our challenge that isn't a card, you will get two entries for a chance to win the prize instead of one!

I made a little bag from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More image set and added some flat cards with leaves on them to the bag. They could be used as place cards or to write things to be thankful for on. The turkey and "Thankful" are both from Miss Kate's Cuttables. There are some really cute files there. The leaves on the cards are from Sesame Street Seasons.

Come join us with your "Thanks" project!

More Thanks at BBTB2

Our challenge for the week at BBTB2 was to use the word "thanks" on our project. I combined a couple of different ideas (one stamped and one cut out) I had seen recently on You Tube and Pinterest and came up with this card. I guess that makes it a card-lift.

I created the file in DS so will share it at the end for anyone who can use it. The paper is DCWV and Recollections for the most part. There is Vintage Photo distress ink around the tags. It helped the leaves stand out a bit better from the red background paper.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving week!

The leaf was sliced from Sesame Street Seasons, which does not come in the subcription.

Fall Leaves at BBTB2

This week at BBTB2 the challenge is to use leaves on a Thanksgiving project.

I went super easy and did a "Make it Now" project. We are on baby watch for a close friend and I needed something that wouldn't take too much time. That's the great thing about the Make it Now's, they're all designed and ready to go. It didn't cost me anything extra because I have the subscription. All I did extra was some inking around the edges and added a few sequins and it's ready to go!

Fall colors at BBTB2

This week at BBTB2 Emily asked us to design something with fall colors. I made this cute Tussy Mussy type container from the 3D Party Cones image set. I really like the scallops on the top.

The pine cone is from the Camp Out cartridge. There are pine cones on each of the larger sides so it can rotate if it's hung up and look nice from all directions. I'm not sure if I'm going to put string on it and hang it up, or just leave it flat like a cornucopia. I think it may depend on what's going in it.

Sorry this is a quick post, but I've been baby showering all weekend. Maybe I'll get some pictures up of that later.

Thanksgiving Pumpkins

Good morning and happy November! The theme for this month at BBTB2 is Thanksgiving, and the challenge this week  is to use a pumpkin (or two or three) on your project.

I made this gate fold card using a pumpkin from Autumn Celebrations. The rest was designed using all basic shapes.

The patterned paper is one I picked up at Tuesday Morning a long time ago. The solid is from Recollections. I embossed the "Thanks" and the little dots in the corners using Brutus Monroe embossing powder in the color Penny. It's super shiny, which does not really show in the picture. If you're interested you can look at it here*. I really liked the way it looked with the paper so I decided to add a little texture by sprinkling just a tiny bit over the background paper and embossing directly onto the paper with no ink. I really like how it turned out. You can just barely see it in the pictures.
The center circle behind the pumpkin was embossed, but you could just leave it flat or stamp a background behind it.

Here's a shot of what it looks like opening.
