Wet and Wild

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #220 Wet and Wild

This Weeks Sponsor
Winner will receive 3 Digis
~This Weeks Challenge~
Wet and Wild
Create a project related to water

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

For my card this week I used Cricut Design Space and an image from the Fun in the Sun cartridge.

I cut the image at 4 1/4" wide (almost too wide). The water is sprayed with a glimmer spritz in plain silvery color. I sprayed the suit with Lindy's Stamp Gang Buccaneer Brown spray for a little extra color and shine. The clouds were embossed with a Darice embossing folder. I decided, after much testing of inks, to emboss the sentiment. It doesn't show very well in the picture but I don't want it to stand out too much.

I did a little experiment this week and cut images for 6 different cards all at the same time using the same papers. It will be interesting to see how they all turn out. It is fun to do some new and different things in Design Space. I don't own the cartridge I used but can use the image since I have the subscription for now. Here is one of the others.

This one is embossed with a different folder. I sprayed the umbrella piece with gold spray this time and stamped the sentiment in blue.

I will be posting more this week so stay tuned!!

Summer treat

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #218  Summer Treats

Winner will receive Silly Shells Stamp Set
~This Weeks Challenge~
Summer Treats
Create a project that represents the tastes of summer

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

I used Cricut Design space to create this card and let the background paper from Martha Stewart dictate the colors for my ice cream, or maybe in this case, sherbet. The solid paper is from Recollections.

Sorry the picture is so dark but it seems like every time I remember to take pictures it's cloudy outside. I really need to find a better place to take pictures. There are several ice cream cones on different cartridges, this one is from Once Upon a Princess. I embossed the cone with a Darice embossing folder and used some Stickles for some texture on the sherbet. The buttons, ric rac and cording are from my stash.

Southern "Lady"

Ok, I'm going on record and saying I really love my Cricut Explore. I've had so much fun creating things in Design Space that I sometimes forget to actually make them. Anyone else have that problem? Here is something I did right after I got the machine and I finally put it together. I have the subscription (and will keep it for at least the summer) which is giving me the chance to play with some cartridges I don't have like Teddy Bears on Parade. They are so cute!

This lovely southern belle is cut at 3.5" The doily is from Edge to Edge and is cut at 4". The whole card is a 5" square. I haven't added a sentiment since I'm not sure who is getting is. I think I need to make some more bears before my subscription is up, or just buy the cartridge. Hope everyone has a great day!

Recipe:
Cardstock: Recollections
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Patterned paper: not sure, I just grabbed
