Graduation or Thank You at BBTB2

This week at Bitten By the Bug 2 we were asked to make either a graduation card or a thank you card. Our graduation is over so I chose the "thank you" option. The flamingo craze grabbed me on this one. The flamingo on the outside is from the Nifty Fifties image set. The "thank you" is from Words and Phrases. There is a black piece behind the darker pink that you can't see. (It got lost when I was editing the image, but I don't have time to take more pictures.)

The flamingo on the inside is from the Life is a Beach image set. I hid the top layer and changed the bottom layer to write to get it to draw the bird on the card.

All of the paper is from Recollections. I used my ATG for the larger pieces and Tombow mono/multi for the smaller pieces. I've been struggling with gluing the really fine sayings and tiny pieces on my projects so I bought some of the Darice Ultratine tip applicator bottles. I didn't know what I'd been missing, they are so helpful and you can fill them with your favorite glue. You can find them here if you would like to see them (not an affiliate link).

Come join us and link up your project!

Towel Dry at BBTB2

Hello and welcome! National towel day is this week so I picked that as the theme for the week at BBTB2. I thought it would be fund and different.

I used images from the Savory, Fiesta and My Kitchen image sets. The original Cricut image had radishes on the border. I hid those and sliced out the jalapeno to go with the saying. The paper is a combination of stash paper, DCWV and Recollections. The embossing folder used on the background is from Darice.

Come join the fun and make your own towel project.

Dreaming Tree SVG's

There will be three $20 Gift Certificates!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

I used this adorable cat treat bag from Dreaming Tree that you can find here (did I mention it was free?). Apparently there is an actual cat that is named Pumpkin, hence the name of the file. I added a couple of cuts from Cricut to finish the project. The mouse is from Live Simply and the ball of yarn is from Paper Dolls for Everyday. There is some flocking on the black rectangles on the head and Glossy Accents on the eyes and the mouth.

I will probably give this to one of my friends who owns a cat with some treats in it. Maybe something for them instead of the cat ;-)

Come join us with your pet project and you could win some fun files from Dreaming Tree.

Love a Tree at BBTB2

Today's challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 is "Love a Tree". Our DT sister Laurie asked us to use a tree in our project. One of my favorite times of the day is when the sun is coming up and all of the trees are black with the colors of the sunrise in the background. This is what I came up with to represent that time.

I used images from the Summer Love, Paper Pups, Paper Dolls Everyday, Solar System image sets, as well as some basic rectangles of different sizes. There is a little Wink of Stella in the center of the sun but it's not really showing in the picture. All of the paper is Recollections, as usual.

There are so many cool trees in Design Space, go pick your favorite and join us!

Say Cheese at BBTB2

This week our hostess at Bitten By the Bug 2, LB, chose cameras as the theme. My project is really small, but it actually has a purpose. I have a friend who loves to take pictures (and is really great at it, btw) so I made her a little tiny box for extra SD cards. The box is about 2.5" square and is from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 image set.

The little camera is from the Campin' Critters image set, and the Polaroid image on the side is from the Brooklyn Iron-on image set. All of the paper is Recollections. There is some Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents on the camera for dimension.

Come, find your inner photographer, and play with us!

Aurora Wings

The winner will recieve $10 gift certificates!

Create a project inspired by things with wings.

Here is my project:

Ok, I admit it, I have a bit of a "thing" for steampunk. It's not my norm, but I really like it. I used this great owl, generously provided by Mitzi, that you can find here

I used a combination of Pr0-Markers, Zig real brush markers, and Wink of Stella to color the image and enhance some of the other pieces.  The Cricut images are from Paper Lace 2, Free images in Design Space, Billionaire and French Manor. The paper is from my stash and Recollections. I did use a stamp for the clock face and I think it's from Graphic 45. I did not use the whole stamp, just cut out the face. I did put some Vintage Photo distress ink on the shiny paper to dull it down a bit. The embossing folder is a Tim Holtz distress folder.

Come play with us and you could win your very own images from Aurora Wings!

Mother's Day Flowers at BBTB2

The challenge this week at BBTB2 is using flowers for Mother's Day. I didn't specifically make mine a Mother's Day card since I would not use it for that, but I did stick with the flower theme.

I used flowers from the Mother's Day Bouquet image set and sliced them out of the white squares. The label piece is from Winter Wonderland. All of the rectangle/square pieces are free images. All of the paper is Recollections and the embossing folder is from Lifestyle Crafts. The stamp is from Unity Stamps and you can find it here. I colored it using my Zig real brush markers. It's not on watercolor paper so it didn't blend as well as it could have.

Come join us for some Mother's Day fun. Even if you're like me and don't have a mother to send a card to, you can make somebody a great card for a birthday or just because.

Golden thanks

I really like the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week so I thought I would play along. I thought I could whip up a couple of quick cards and here is one.

I picked up the gold paper at Walmart. It's a huge roll from K and Company and I am looking forward to using it more. The patterned is from a 6 x 6 DCWV pack. The "thanks" die is from Intricutz. I had trouble getting a good picture because the paper is so shiny, but I really like how the card looks in person.
