It's Easter at Fantabulous Cricut!

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #248-Easter

This Weeks Sponsor

Bugaboo Stamps

The prize is 7 digital stamps!

Create a project inspired by Easter

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

I made a rather non-traditional Easter card today. I loved this image from Bugaboo Stamps and just needed to find some way to make a card with it. I like how it turned out. You can find the image here if you would like one of your own.

I colored the image with Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs. I have a Spectrum Noir set for skin colors and I usually use that in my coloring. Recollections card stock and the pierced rectangles set from Die-namics were used to cut the background solids. The eggs were cut from the Happy Easter Cricut image set.

I used stamps from KAndrew Designs and My Pink Cricut for the sentiments. They were all stamped with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I punched the border on the inside of the card with an EK success punch.

Please join us for this fun challenge. The prize this time is great, there are some wonderful images on the Bugaboo site!

Frame challenge at BBTB2

The challenge this week at Bitten by the Bug 2 is to use a frame from one of the Cricut image sets. I picke the sunflower frame from Stretch Your Imagination.

I used paper from the Core'dinations whitewash collection for the frame and the flowers. The sunflower is from the Art Nouveau cartridge (one of my favorites). To add some more interest to the flower I cut some petals from the Flower Shoppe set and put them on top of the flower. They are curled a bit to add some dimension.

The frame is popped up on foam tape. I also used an embossing stylus to add some veins to the leaves. The leaves are all made from random scraps from my stash. I really need to do that more often. I used Recollections solid color card stock for the two blue pieces. The brighter yellow has a metallic element and is from the Paper Company.

Here is a link to the Design Space file if you would like to recreate this card (or any part of it). Have a great day!

Bye, Bye Birdie at FCCB

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Challenge #247 Bye, Bye, Birdie
Make a project using a bird or birds.

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

I know it's almost spring but I decided to try to think outside the box, or in this case card, for my project this week. I actually used a Christmas set from SVG attic called Santa's Workshop for the base of the project. You can find it here.

I made this cute boot. I thought it would be adorable with spring paper. It turned out pretty cute! It also reminded me why I make cards. My patience was running pretty thin by the time I was done.

This cutie is from the Cherry Limeade image set on Cricut Design Space. I put some Wink of Stella on the pink parts before I did the doodling, but it doesn't show up in the picture.

This is a better view of the 3D aspect of the project. I'm pretty pleased with the overall look. I may add some more embellishments after I stare at it for a while. The solid paper used on the bird is Recollections as is the crocheted lace. The patterned paper is by Brandin O'Neill for Webster's pages. It all coordinated together really well. The flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Have a great week everyone, and come join us with some birdie fun!

St. Patrick's Day at Fantabulous Cricut

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #246 - St.Patrick's Day

digiplayground.com

There will be 3 winners of $7 gift certificates!

Create a project inspired by St. Patrick's Day

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

Don't faint, I didn't make a card this week. Shocking, I know! I used a file from Digiplayground for this adorable sticky note holder. You can find the file here. It uploaded to Design Space very easily and cut out great! The shamrocks are a Cricut cut from Celebrate with a Flourish.

Here are the pieces as they initially cut. I had a little oops on the second one from the left and had to re-cut. Not a big deal, just a time issue.

The green solid is Recollections from Michael's, as is the golden orange in the shamrock. The print paper is from Webster's Pages. It's quite thick and heavy which will help with the stability of the holder. I put some dyed seam binding on the front to help bring out the orange and put in an orange note pad from Target. The pen is from Michael's. I put a little shamrock ribbon I had left over from a couple of years ago through the top on the pen to help tie it together. The shamrock pieces have Glossy Accents on them

I snapped a few pictures during the construction process, but this is the only one that turned out. (That whole multi-tasking thing is not always productive.) This shows tape on the left and right edges, which will become the top and bottom of the holder. There is an accordion pleat on one end to help it stand up.

I hope everyone has a great couple of weeks and a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Please take some time to create something even if you don't join the challenge. It's good for you!
