Color Challenge
Create a project that uses the colors purple, yellow and gray

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

First of all, I apologize for the poor picture quality recently. I took this one in the middle of the day, but it is Florida so naturally it's stormy and dark out. The card is much brighter in person. C'est la vie.

On to the details...I used Design Space to put this all together. I like being able to change the colors of the pieces to get a better idea of how something will look before you cut. I changed several things throughout the process of making this card. For instance, I was able to switch the light and dark yellows and purples around to get it how I wanted it. Love that (a lot)! I was also able to use cartridges I don't own because I have the subscription at the moment (also a plus). The flower background piece is from Paper Lace and the bird is from Create a Critter 2. The label is from Labels.

I hope everyone has a great week. And come play along, it's fun!!

Sketch Challenge
Create a project inspired by the sketch below:

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

I actually did this project twice. As you may know by now, I did succumb to the allure of the Cricut Explore. I really am enjoying it immensely, it's adding a whole new spin on my card making. I cheated just a bit and made an SVG file for the sketch so the Cricut cut all of the pieces for me, it was great!!

The paper for this card is from Recollections and 7 Gypsies. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. I haven't written with my Explore much but I did manage to with this card. The kraft colored paper is embossed with a Spellbinders embossing folder. The butterfly is from the Heritage cartridge.

I used the same cut file for the sketch for this card, just changed out the embellishment on the top..
The paper for this one came from the Prima Rosarian collection (6 x 6 pad). The stamp is from the Tim Holtz "Seamless Experience" set. The rose is a Cricut image, I just forgot to check which cartridge it was on (dang that subscription!).

Be sure to play...

along with us this week at Fantabulous Cricut. There is a terrific prize from SVGCuts that includes a $50 gift card from their site PLUS a Big Shot. Add your project to celebrate Dad, be sure it includes a cut from Cricut, and you're in!! Hope you all join us.

Here is another card I made from an SVGCuts file. They are so cute!

This is a super quick "Good Luck" card I made for the dance teacher at our school who is leaving this year. The Fairy is from the Flitting Fairies file. The flourish background is a Cricut image. It's great fun combining the two. Good luck everyone!

Box cards - let the adventure begin!!

Yes, I have ventured into the ever expanding world of the box card. They are cute, but man are they time consuming! This one was for a friend's 50th birthday (heavily influenced by the fact that she has a brand new granddaughter).

The SVG file for this is from SVGCuts. They have some really great stuff, check them out if you haven't and have a machine that will cut them. The directions are pretty easy to follow as well, and there are even videos for a lot of the more difficult files. I did another one today but I won't post it until it has been given to the person it's for. She retiring, lucky girl!

I'm hoping to get quite a bit better with the Explore over the summer so hopefully I will post more. Two more days, yay! Have a great week.

Hot Air Balloon box card you will find here at SVGCuts
