ATC Day

Hi! Today is Tags n' ATC day at My Paper Crafting and the theme is "Pearl". It's the last full week of school and graduation preparations are in full swing so I did a super simple ATC this week.

I cut the argyle pattern from the Wild Card Cricut cartridge and backed it with some yellow cut at ATC size. I did the cut at 3 1/2" and it came out the perfect size for an ATC. In keeping with the theme, all of the paper is pearlized. I also added some Viva Decor pearl pen at the intersections to add more interest. Like I said, super simple. I hope everyone has a great day!

MPC post

Hi everyone! Today's theme for the Craft with Cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting is Pearl! For the "pearls" on this card I used both the self-adhesive plastic kind and Viva Decor pearl paint.

The cut is from the Art Nouveau Cricut cartridge. I really like many of the cuts on that cartridge and find myself using it quite often. I cut this at 3 1/2" so it took up quite a bit of real estate on the front of my card. I didn't mind, though as it is a gorgeous cut! I used some Prima paper for the background and all of the solid color paper is from my stash. Some of it is several years old, but it's good to make use of it, right?? I also used some ivory seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts just to add a little more texture to the card. The moth is mounted on foam tape to add some dimension as well.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Pink ATC

Happy Thursday everyone! Today is Tag/ATC day at My Paper Crafting. The theme for this week is pink. My ATC is definitely PINK!

I started with a standard ATC card base made from Ranger glossy paper. I stamped the flowers with Versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then went over the card with Cranberry Ranger alcohol ink. The flowers were cut from the Tattered Flowers Tim Holtz Sizzix die. I used pearlized paper from The Paper Studio for the flowers. The centers and bling are from my stash. I've had a little bit of a hard time keeping my ATC's flat enough, but I think this one is pretty good.

Pink card

Hi!! Today is pink day at My Paper Crafting! The challenge this week is to use your favorite cartridge and come up with something PINK! My daughter is a huge fan of pink, so it's been around our house for many years.

I have to admit that while I don't hate this card, it's not my favorite. The intent is there, it just didn't come out quite like I expected it to. I think we all have that happen occasionally. I used the Elegant Cakes cartridge to cut the floral flourish at 2". The patterned paper is from Prima and the solid is from The Paper Studio. I used pink Stickles on the plain paper to add a little more interest. The ribbon is from my stash. I used 2 different embossing folders, one Sizzix and one Darice, for the backgrounds. The bottom layer was inked around the edges with MS ink.

I hope everyone has a great "pink" day!!

Oh Baby....

....is the theme for the challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut.  My card is not exactly a traditional baby card, but so many people are not going the "traditional" route with baby stuff these days I thought it would be ok. The only actual Cricut cut on the card is the rocking horse. It was cut at 1 1/2" from the Heritage cartridge. I don't use that one as much as I should, I really love some of the images on it.

The paper is MME Lime Twist and the sketch is from Mojo Monday. It is a little busy, but it's pretty cute in person. The majority of the cuts were done with scissors or my paper trimmer. I did use a Spellbinders scallop circle die, but other than that it was pretty simple. Most of the edges were inked with Antique Linen distress ink.

ATC Day

Hi all, happy Thursday! It's Tags n' ATC's day at My Paper Crafting.  It's been a crazy week, as they all are toward the end of the school year. We had to throw a retirement party together in 3 days and I've been helping with that (made the card, of course). We knew she was retiring at the end of the year, but just found out she may be leaving early (new grandchildren - twins!). I ended up making a super quick ATC that turned out pretty cute.

I used paper from the Prima "Nature's Garden" 6 x 6 stack. This is all from one sheet. The bunnies are a Martha Stewart punch and they were punched from the patterned part of the sheet. The lace, which is the theme for the week, is from Recollections. The flower is from the Spellbinders/Hampton Art Flowers set and the stamp is from K Andrew designs. I used Vintage Photo distress ink on the edges of the card and around the bunnies. The lighter bunny and the flower are on foam tape. Guess things don't have to be really complicated to turn out cute!

Lace...

Hi everybody! Today's challenge at My Paper Crafting is to make a project that includes some sort of lace.

I used the Cricut Craft Room for this project. They have the Art Deco cartridge as one of the "Cut it Free for a Week" items this week. I really think I would like to own that cartridge. I cut the lady at 4" from some really heavy black linen textured card stock I picked up at Tuesday Morning. The silver is pearlized paper from The Paper Studio. The lace in the corner is an old piece I had in my stash. The black and white paper is also stash stuff. There are a few little blingy things on the card and the border was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. It's different, but I like the Deco feel of it.

I hope everyone has a great day. Please visit all of the talented ladies at My Paper Crafting and leave them some crafty love.

Thanks at Getting Cricky

Hi everyone! Today is my day to post for the Getting Cricky Design team.

I'm always in need of nice Thank You cards. I decided that would be a good thing to make this week. I used a K Andrew Designs stamp for the "Thanks". It's from a little set Kristal included in orders at one point. It's such a nice size, large enough to see yet small enough to not take over the card.

Here's a close-up of the stamp on the card.

I used the Art Nouveau Cricut cartridge for the cut. It is the Iris cut at 3" which is the smallest recommended size for this cut. The purple background was cut with a Spellbinders die. The solid paper is from The Paper Studio and the printed is Authentique (I think). I hope everyone has a great day and a great Mother's Day weekend!

Mother's Day Card

Today's post at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog the theme is Mother's Day. I had a little trouble doing this as this will be the first one without my mom who passed away in August. While my sister and I are glad she is no longer suffering from the many ailments she had, some times are still difficult to handle.

I used the free cut this week on the Cricut Craft Room for my card. The background paper is very shiny so it's hard to get a good picture. I set the height of the card at 5.25" to get the correct size. It is a tri-fold card so it's quite long. I sized the flowers in CCR by putting them into the opening and seeing what size I liked. You can make it look any way you'd like, which is nice. The leaves were cut from green Recollections paper and the flower petals are purple whitewashed Core'dinations paper.

I embossed the petals with an embossing folder and then sanded them lightly to bring out the purple. I used an EK Success edge punch on the inside flap with the flowers on it. It gave it a little more interest on the inside. I then tied some vintage seam binding from Wild Orchid Crafts around the side of the card and tied a bow. The "pearls" are Viva Decor pearl pen. I didn't put any words on it relating to "Mom" but I don't know who is getting it and will adjust the words accordingly.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Cinco de Mayo ATC

Another post this week, shocked??

Today is Tag/ATC day at My Paper Crafting and the theme this week is Cinco de Mayo. I made an ATC card, as usual.

I used the cute Chili pepper couple digi from Melin at Paper Crafting World. You can find the digi here. I printed the precolored digi on my printer and cut it out with a Spellbinders die. The paper is all old stash paper. I embossed the yellow and punched the green strips with a MS punch. The music notes are a small Sizzix die. There are Stickles on the borders. What you can't see is the couple is on an Action Wobble so the couple can actually dance! It turned out very festive I think. I hope everyone has a great day.

Flourished...

Hi everybody. Today is another cartridge challenge at My Paper Crafting. This week we were to use a flourish off of any cartridge. I chose the Sentimentals cartridge for the cuts on my card today.

The flourish and the phone are both from that cartridge. The phone was cut at 3" and the flourish at 2 1/2". The paper is from a Prima 6 x 6 pad. The phone is on foam tape to raise it off the card a bit. I layered several things on the left side to balance out the phone a bit. There is a piece of paper, seam binding and the flourish along with a flower, burlap circle and some tiny butterflies. I outlined some of the phone parts with a fine tipped black marker.

Recipe - additional items:
Wild Orchid Crafts flower
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
Burlap circle cut from Sizzix die
EK Success edge punch - dotted wave
Scotch quick dry glue
ATG adhesive
