Fall Card for My Cricut Craft Room

This is my first DT post for  My Cricut Craft Room!! The theme today is Fall, which is a little hard to think about when it's 93 and feels like 103 outside.

I made 2 cards using Cricut Design Space. Everything is Cricut so I will share the link to the project at the end of the post should you care to make one for yourself.

This is an A2 card with a little window in the front. I cut a banner piece to fit inside and attached it with a narrow piece of washi tape. If anyone is still on the fence about purchasing an Explore just look at the detail of those leaves!! That piece is only a little bigger than a quarter and it is so detailed.

All of the solid paper is Recollections. I bought some Tombow mono multi a couple of weeks ago and I'm finding myself going back to it regularly. I still love my Scotch quick dry, but the tip on the Tombow is a bit smaller so I've been using it on all of my tiny pieces. The bling is from my stash.

There isn't quite as much going on with this card, which was kind of the point. I used the same color scheme and basic supplies from the other card. I was able to use the sync function on Design Space and cut a bunch of the pieces together. I used Fired Brick Distress ink on the leaves in this card to change them from solid yellow/gold to a more fall color. There is also Vintage Photo ink around the edges of the card.

If you have an Explore and would like the file, here is the link:  Fall Cards
There are a few extra pieces in case you want to change the look of either of them a bit.

Be sure to visit My Cricut Craft Room to see more projects like this.

Happy Crafting!!

FCCB Camp Out Challenge

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #24 Camp Out

This Weeks Sponsor

Pretty Cute Stamps

~This Weeks Challenge~
Camp Out
Create a project inspired by the outdoors

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

For my project this week I used Design Space and searched for "camping" and "tents". There are so many things to choose from it was hard to decide! I chose the bear from the Teddy Bears on Parade cartridge, and the tent. I need to pay attention what cartridge things are on when I do that because I don't remember which one it was on. The tree is a Tim Holtz Die that I cut using cork paper from DCWV. I had to cut it down a bit to use on the card but it worked. The bear is cut at 2.7 inches and the tent at 2.5. I'm finding it easier to use measurements just to the tenths place since that's the way the mats are laid out in Design Space.

I hope you all have a great week and come play along with us.

Bug out

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #222 Bug Out

Jaded Blossom

Winner will receive the Bug a Boo Stamp set
~This Weeks Challenge~
Bug Out
Create a project that uses a bug

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

For my project this week I used the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. It's on the Disney Classics cartridge or you can search for "caterpillar" or "bug" on Design space and it will come up.

There is a bit of a steampunk feel to the card. The background printed paper has that blueprint look and the beige piece behind was embossed with a gear embossing folder. The piece directly behind the caterpillar is gauze paper from DCWV. It added some nice texture to the card. The sentiment was stamped with Vintage Photo distress ink which was the ink I used all around the card. The inside says "amazing".

I hope everyone has a great week and finds some time to play along. This is a great challenge to make a boy card, they love bugs!

Birthday cards

I thought I would post a couple of birthday cards I've made lately with the Explore. This one is a file from Paper Crafting World. She has some really great files, go check it out! This has tags on the outside of the card but I elected to use them on the inside instead. This actually has quite a bit of dimension that doesn't show that much in the picture. There are several layers on the flower and the pearl in the center is about 1/4" high.

This one turned out pretty (it's better in person). I love that the Explore can write on projects!! I used an American Crafts marker and wrote on vellum. I created the cut in Design Space from a picture I liked on the internet. The sentiment is actually a cut file from Miss Kate's Cuttables that you can find here. I kept this one really flat so it could be mailed.
