The Craft with Cutters challenge for today at My Paper Crafting is Bundle Up Baby. It's really difficult to think of bundling up at the moment as I sit here with the sunburn I got on Sunday in the 86 degree heat. It's nice to think that it is cooler somewhere! I grew up in a much cooler climate and I do miss putting on all of those extra layers and going out to play in the snow. Ice skating was one of my favorite things to do, which may be why I chose the image I did. It's from "A Child's Year" Cricut cartridge. When you're done here, come join us for the fun and make your own Bundle Up project!
The image was cut at 4 1/4" from a piece of Core'dinations whitewash paper. I lightly sanded it to bring out a bit more of the blue background. The blue layer is the back of the same whitewash paper that was cut with a Spellbinders die and embossed with a snowflake embossing folder. The card base is a gate fold card and was made from a 6" x 12" piece of paper. (The final dimensions are 4" x 6".) Here's a better picture of the gate fold.
Two other pieces of white paper were cut at 2" x 6" for the front and embossed with the same folder. I used Perfect Pearls in white on the snowflakes to add a little glimmer. The rick-rack is a pre-glued strip that came from the $1.50 bin at Michael's. There is a little shimmer in it as well. The snowflake is a Martha Stewart Punch.
I hope you enjoy all of the projects you see today. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
Such adorable cut and I love all the embossing. Hope your sunburn cools off to match this cool card.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is one of my favorite cartridges. I love the design of this sweet card.
