Mother's Day Flowers at BBTB2

The challenge this week at BBTB2 is using flowers for Mother's Day. I didn't specifically make mine a Mother's Day card since I would not use it for that, but I did stick with the flower theme.

I used flowers from the Mother's Day Bouquet image set and sliced them out of the white squares. The label piece is from Winter Wonderland. All of the rectangle/square pieces are free images. All of the paper is Recollections and the embossing folder is from Lifestyle Crafts. The stamp is from Unity Stamps and you can find it here. I colored it using my Zig real brush markers. It's not on watercolor paper so it didn't blend as well as it could have.

Come join us for some Mother's Day fun. Even if you're like me and don't have a mother to send a card to, you can make somebody a great card for a birthday or just because.

Golden thanks

I really like the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week so I thought I would play along. I thought I could whip up a couple of quick cards and here is one.

I picked up the gold paper at Walmart. It's a huge roll from K and Company and I am looking forward to using it more. The patterned is from a 6 x 6 DCWV pack. The "thanks" die is from Intricutz. I had trouble getting a good picture because the paper is so shiny, but I really like how the card looks in person.

April Shower Umbrellas at BBTB2

The theme this week at BBTB2 is April Shower Umbrellas. Our DT sister, Caroline, charged with making a project with an umbrella in it.

I used several basic shapes for this card plus images from Crocs Rule and Disney Pooh and Friends. The paper is a mix of stash paper, everything from Bazzill to Webster's Pages. I'm really working on using the stuff I have instead of buying new.

Come have some fun, and remember to bring your umbrella!

Challenge #275 at FCCB:  Mother's Day

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #272 - Mother's Day-create a card or project for Mother's Day

This Weeks Sponsor
digiplayground.com

There will be 3 winners of $7 gift certificates!

Create a project inspired by Mother's Day

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

I used this adorable birdhouse file from digiplayground.com for by my project today. I added the "Happy Mother's Day" from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2, and changed the bird to this cutie from Nate's ABC's. I cut it up a bit so I just had the bird.

All of the solid paper is Recollections and the patterned is from Webster's Pages that I've had in my stash. Come join us for some Mother's Day fun!

Birds at BBTB2

This week Caroline is our hostess at BBTB2. Our DT sister, Brenda, had chosen the theme of spring birds for the week so we are going with it.

My card has images from several image sets, as usual. The bird is from Cherry Limeade, the "just a note" is from Wild Card, and the note itself is from the Hannah Montana set. All of the paper, except the blue background, is scraps, yay! I'm really trying to use them up.

If you haven't been to the BBTB2 blog head over, there are some really great creations this week!

National Barbershop Quartet Day - We're celebrating it at BBTB2!

Susan is our hostess this week at BBTB2 and we are celebrating National Barbershop Quartet Day by creating something musical.

I used the Quarter Note image set, it's one of my favorites. I used my go-to Recollections card stock for the solids and a scrap from Webster's pages is the red piece in the background. I added a few sequins to some of the dots on the embossing on the background.

Join us for some musical fun this week!

Tuesday Morning Sketches entry

I find that I really enjoy using sketches when I make cards and Tuesday Morning Sketches has some great ones.

I haven't had much time for challenges lately so this card is very simple, but it was fun to do. This is a combination of Recollections and stash card stock. The flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts. The image is from A Day for Daisies. The washi tape is something I picked up at Tuesday Morning (possibly Tim Holtz).
