Dreaming Tree SVG's

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

I used the free Clover Treat Basket from Dreaming Tree for my project today. You can find it here.

I also used an Irish lass from the St. Patrick's Day image set in Design Space and added her to the handle with the clover that comes in the file. I embossed the clover for a little visual interest. The stripes and washi tape on the bottom gave it even more interest. The file was easy to use and turned out really cute. I may have to make some more of them.

I hope you all come join us for this fun challenge. Even if you don't, if you have any Explore make sure you head over to Dreaming Tree and pick up this adorable file.

Leaping for Leap Day at BBTB2

Hi everyone! LB is our hostess this week at BBTB2 and she took advantage of the fact that today is Leap Day and chose it for the challenge for the week.

I ended up making a birthday card for my project. I know I won't have much use for it after tomorrow, but I may take it to work and see if anyone needs it.

I used a bunch of different image sets for this card. Nursery Rhyme for the pig, Cake Basics for the Happy Birthday, Paper Lace for the diamond background, From My Kitchen for the cake and, last but not least, Designer's Calendar for the "leap year".

I tried to make it pretty gender neutral because I don't have anyone specific to give it to. I used some Glossy Accents on the red pieces and some Wink of Stella on the pig. I hope you will all create your own leaping project and come join us for a challenge that won't come around often.

It's National Gumdrop Day...who knew?

Emily from Mollie's Motif, that's who. She is our hostess at BBTB2 this week. She has asked us to use candy on our projects in honor of this special day!

I used images from Cake Basics, Sweet Shop and Creative Holiday Cards for the card base. I added a couple of extra layers to the background by duplicating the pink layer and making one smaller and one larger. I have notice that my cards have been looking a little sparse and thought that might help. The paper is all Recollections solid color card stock from Michael's. I had to break out the clear Wink of Stella again to add a little sparkle.

Since today is a holiday, take a few minutes to come join us with a project. We love to see your work!

Valentine Hearts at BBTB2

Caroline is our hostess today on the BBTB2 blog and her theme for the week is Valentine Hearts. I made this little heart box for my project. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I like it.

I used images from the Box it Up and Valentine's Day image sets. I do love my Access (formerly subscription) for just these times. I don't own either of them, yet can still use them when I want to. I sized the box so it would fit on an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of card stock and it turned out a pretty decent size. I used the slice feature again to cut the shadow layer out of the background and used some foam tape on the heart for some dimension. I may add a few sequins later, depending on what I do with it.

Ice Cream for breakfast!!

Hello! Brenda is our hostess at BBTB2 this week and she chose ice cream as the theme for the week. Apparently you are supposed to eat ice cream for breakfast the first Saturday in February. I don't think that will be a problem for me, ice cream is good any time!

If you saw my other post for the day, you can tell I'm making good use of the slice feature in Design Space. There are some great options in DS that can take your creativity to a new level. This is still a pretty simple card, but the slicing makes it just a bit more fun.

The image is from the Sweet Treats image set. I used the black background layer to slice the background behind the sundae. The stitches are a stamp and there is some clear Wink of Stella on the ice cream toppings. I need to add a few more birthday cards to my stash so I may recreate this is some other colors. Here is the link to the card if you would like it.

Come join us for some ice cream fun!

$10.00 Gift Certificate

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

I used mostly basic shapes for my card today. I used the basic heart shape, made it 2 different sizes and sliced it out of a rectangle made from the basic square. I embossed the background paper and used the de-embossed side, it looked better. The background paper is from Webster's pages and the solid is Recollections. I cut 3 of the "love" words from the Suburbia cartridge and stacked them for a little more dimension. It's all topped off with a few sequins. (The pink sentiment matches better in person than it does in the picture).

I used the same file with different paper and a different embossing folder for this one. The colored paper is from Theresa Collins. I made 2 white "love"s and stacked them under the colored one so I didn't waste the paper. Here is the link to the project in Design Space in case you would like to use it.

I hope everyone takes the time to join us for this challenge. It's always fun to see all the creativity out there!
