Dancing winter snowflakes at BBTB2

This week Susan is our host and she chose snowflakes for the theme at BBTB2. Dancing winter snowflakes, to be more specific.

My project is pretty simple. I seem to be having trouble making anything very fancy lately. My snowflake is kind of "dancing" in the window of the card. I created the base by slicing a circle out of the base from Creative Holiday Cards. I then made another layer a little smaller to go over the front. There is vellum between the layers. Part of the snowflake is on the back of the circle and part is on the front. The white piece is embosses with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. The silver string around the window is from Michael's.

The snowflake itself is from the Sesame Street Seasons image set.

I hope everyone has a good week, and those of you effected by the blizzard start to dig out!

Winter mittens at BBTB2

Our hostess this week at BBTB2 is Melanie, and the theme she chose for the week is "Winter Scarfs, Mittens and Hats". I chose to use the mittens from the Holiday Cakes image set for my project today.

The Brrrr is from the Winter Woodlands image set and the doily is from Quilted Christmas. I made the octagonal card by welding two of the basic shapes together and adding a score line. It's a little over 4 1/2 inches tall. The glitter paper is from DCWV and the rest is Recollections. I used some bling from my stash for the vertices (I teach geometry...what can I say).

Take some time to join us with your own snuggly winter project this week!

Frosty the Snowman at BBTB2

Happy New Year everyone! This week at BBTB2 Michelle chose the theme of snowmen. It's really difficult to imagine snowmen here in Florida as it has been in the 80's everyday until today.

I chose a snowman from the Snow Friends image set in Design Space. The sentiment is from the Winter Frolic image set. The paper is all Recollections, as usual. I did put some Wink of Stella on the snowman and a few other pieces.

Come join us for some snowy fun!!

Something New at FCCB

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #267-Something New
Make a project about or with something new, and explain if it isn't clear!

This Weeks Sponsor

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images. If it isn't a card, you will get two entries into the drawing!

For my card this week I used the Deer Family Silhouettes from Pretty paper, pretty ribbons. I ungrouped in Design Space and just used the buck. It is one of my "new" things. The other is the embossing folder.

The sentiment is from the Cricut Phrases image set. The background rectangles were both cut from the free shapes on Design Space. I hope everyone is having a good new year so far. Come play with us and show off your "new" stuff.
