Challenge 245

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #245-Use the color red

This Weeks Sponsor

Bugaboo Stamps

Create a project using the color red.

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

For my project today I used images from the Elegant Edges cartridge and this adorable digital image from Bugaboo Stamps called "Big Books Girl". I love this image! If you like it as much as I do you can find it here.

She is colored with a combination of Spectrum Noir, Promarkers, and Copics. The solid card stock is from Recollections. The patterned paper is from a 6 x 6 pad called Walnut Grove by Pebbles.

I designed the card background in Design Space. Here is a version for you to use if you would like. Hopefully the link will work.

I hope everyone joins us for this fun challenge. Have a great week!

Last minute Valentines - Explore file if you want it

I made a few of these lip balm holders for some children of friends. These are the small lip balms from Dollar Tree.

I used an image from the Victorian Romance cartridge. It was easy because I only had to slice with one layer.

I ungrouped the image after I got it to the size I wanted and used a small circle from the Craft Room Basics images to slice a hole for the lip balm. After it was all cut out the filigree piece fits right over the hole and lip balm. Pretty simple! I did use some different color combinations as you can see from the screen shot.

Here is a link to the file if you would like it. There is also a shamrock for St. Patrick's day on the same mat.

Time for some Hearts (ok...Valentines)

Welcome to another Challenge Me Monday...

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #244 Valentine Projects

Stamp set from Kitty Bee Designs
Be sure to visit our sponsor!

Hi all. Yes, I begrudgingly typed "Valentines" in the post title. If you've ever read any of my posts from around this time of year you will know I am not a fan (far too much drama at school). That being said, this cute little guy from our sponsor, Kitty Bee Designs, was too much fun to pass up.

I colored him with my Promarkers. It's bee a while since I've colored, and the ink did some funky things on his head, but he's still cute! The doily is from the Valentine's Day Cricut image set. I only cut one layer because I was planning to put it over the red background. It's a 5" square card, by the way, not by norm. I used a Spellbinders scalloped circle to cut around the image. The washi tape is from Dollar Tree. The little die cut hearts are from the Heart Quartet set from Verve stamps. It cut so well, I was really impressed. I put some bling on the washi strip on the top of the card.

This card is an easel card. The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs. The solid color paper is all from Recollections.
