Class of 2014
Create a graduation project

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

My project this week is a 3D box star made up in our school colors. The last day for seniors was yesterday and graduation is next week. There are always a couple of students that make me cry, but I digress...

The box is from 3Dcuts and they are so much fun to make! I used Cricut Design Space to create it on my Explore. The Happy Graduation is from the Create a Friend cartridge.

This picture is a better color match to the real gold color.
I tried about 12 times to get a 2014 to cut to put on it but I couldn't get it to work. I really need to watch some more videos. It took me 2 days just to figure out where the numbers were. There is definitely a learning curve to DS.

Have a great week everyone and Congratulations to all who are celebrating graduations!

Birthday flowers

There have been several birthdays at work lately and I made this card for one of them.  I hope the recipient liked it.  ]

I used the Crazy Daisy stamp and die sets from Stephanie Barnard's Stamps of Life, both of which can be found here. I need to make some more birthday cards this weekend, there are more coming! Have a super day!

Randomness

This is for some students to see. Pics of some of last year's projects in case we can't get them uploaded to a computer at school :-)

Celebrate mom

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

$50.00 Giftcard to SVG Cuts

Celebrate Mom
Create a project that celebrates mom.

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

My card for the week is very simple. I just got my Explore last weekend and haven't had much time to play with it so I'm still in learning mode with all of this SVG stuff.

My card base is from Cricut Design Space. It is one of their "make it now" projects. I used the monarch butterfly from the Edisto Island Cards kit from SVGCuts. I embossed the butterfly with the Darice "Henna" embossing folder. I put some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals paint on the top layer of the butterfly. There is a little glimmer to it but it doesn't show in the picture.

Come join the challenge this week, $50.00 is a lot of great SVG's!! Good luck everyone!

Recipe:
Mom Fancy Edge Card - Cricut Design Space
Butterfly - SVGCuts Edisto Card Kit
Paper - Recollections Sugar Candy
Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals - Hottie Patottie
Inkssentials white gel pen
Darice Henna embossing folder

New things...

I finally "bit the bullet" and ordered the new Cricut Explore. It came today in its gargantuan box from Amazon. Two small children could fit in the box they sent it in...seriously! My daughter is taking it to school for her second graders to play in. Anyway, here it is...

It's very pretty and shiny, but also very intimidating.

It took a while to get it connected to a computer. Didn't have the right operating system on one so I had to switch to another. Good thing I had another!!

Here is the first project they walk you through. It was very simple and VERY quiet. I'm excited to try more, but how much time is it going to take to really get good at? I just moved my Expression over a few feet just in case I get too frustrated. Good old Expression, love that machine. Hopefully I'll fell the same way about this one soon.
